We had a pipe burst in our house on Sunday! We had gone over to some friends house after church and so didn't get home until about 7. Yikes, what a surprise. Water was flowing into the dirt portion of our basement, which, in turn, caused mud to flow into the lower cement part of our basement. After quickly turning off our water we investigated the cause and discovered that the pipes in the wall of our downstairs shower had burst in three places.
Chris cut a hole in the towel cabinet side of that wall and spent all of Monday and a little of last night repairing the breaks. Here's the clever solution that he came up with to deflect the heat of the blowtorch away from the drywall: That's right. A spoon. And it worked exceptionally well. Today running water is feeling like a luxury.
